Tokenizing the ecosystem

THE CHALLENGE

We want to develop an economic incentive infrastructure to commonize Odyssey, which enables people to use, contribute and benefit from the components of its infrastructure, like the Hackathon. If Odyssey is built on a commonized protocol, how can you make it into an economically viable ecosystem? The introduction of a token could be a way to better the input/impact ratio: more impact using a more effective infrastructure, enabling the ecosystem to be more successful. We want to see Odyssey as a self-operation ecosystem that is owned by no-one or everyone, but can be used by everyone. An Odyssey token incentivizes people to contribute value to the ecosystem.

Now we have to ask ourselves, when a new protocol needs to be initiated, how to get to the best economic infrastructure and how to design the token? If someone owns an Odyssey token, how can he then add value to projects within the Odyssey ecosystem? How does the token distinguish between ownership and control? How and when will transactions occur? And how do you as token holder interact (API, app, doc) when you are using the Odyssey infrastructure?

Odyssey will eat its own dog food and itself is challenging the ecosystem to build a prototype of the system during the Hackathon,  with 10.000 euro in cash and Odyssey acceleration power for the winner.

DOMAIN EXPERTS PRESENT AT THE HACKATHON

All Odyssey partners (Watch the video on youtube) have the ambition to collaborate on a tokenized Odyssey. They will all be present at the hackathon to help teams in this challenge.

TYPE OF TEAM ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

We are looking for a mix of teams, from pre-startups to corporate, to get creative ideas and viable solutions.

PROTOCOL OR
APPLICATION SOLUTION?

We are looking for a protocol solution

OPEN SOURCE OR PROPRIETARY

We expect teams to develop a completely open source project, accompanied by a relevant Open Source Software license.

Motivation

We want to turn the Odyssey Open Innovation program into an economical infrastructure for collaboration that can be used by anyone and is owned by everyone.

Ambition and goals

Develop a Tokenized Ecosystem where the stakeholders are already on board. The ambition is to develop it in a regulated and prudent way. We don’t want people to buy the token to make money, we want people to buy the token to be part of the collaborative ecosystem.

Track record in innovation and working to accelerate with teams/companies
