Location: Senate of the Netherlands
Odyssey Ethical Deep Dive
Hackathon participants calibrating their Ethical Compass
Program
Friday 8 March 2019, 12.00-18.00
Who can join?
All 100 team captains for the Odyssey Hackathon are exclusively invited for the Odyssey Ethical Deep Dive, together with the Odyssey challenge-owners, partners and ecosystem members.
Where?
The Dutch Senate (Eerste Kamer), The Hague, The Netherlands
What?
Together we will calibrate our ethical compass.
So you are going to take part in the Odyssey Hackathon and build code to change the world?
Awesome! Any idea how your code will actually impact the world? Do you have a clear view on your ethical compass? How will it guide your team? What do ethics mean for you?
Together we will actively engage the ethical aspects of new technology, as you develop it and society puts it to use. Doing so will help us create new ways of ‘working’ and ‘running’ society.
Debate
As a participant of the Ethical Deep Dive, you will be seated in one of the 75 seats normally reserved for Dutch Senators. Together, we will debate and constructively build views and approaches, on creating a new balance between ownership and commons, public and private, sovereignty and society. Most importantly: which learnings can you take with you to design and BUIDL your solution at the Odyssey Hackathon?
The goal of this debate is not to be right, but to explore together and find new and valuable insights that enable us all to make a difference.
Seating
There are 75 seats. Seats are secured on a first come first serve base.
