INTERACT WITH DIGITAL
TWIN SIMULATIONS OF
MULTIPLE TRANSACTIVE GRIDS

Grid Singularity and Engie invite you to help in the challenge of integrating an inclusive market design utilizing D3A,enabling every producing consumer to become an ‘energy company’.

Find out below what you can do and how you can participate in Odyssey Momentum, November 13-15, 2020.

An invitation to get involved

During Odyssey Momentum 2020, November 13-15, ten selected teams will build new solutions to the challenge of Grid Singularity and Engie. We invite you to join the online environment to see what teams are working on, interact with their ideas, and contribute to new solutions that are valuable for you.
Therefore, Grid Singularity and Engie are inviting specialists and policymakers from throughout the entire energy sector, farmers with solar panels, energy communities, regulators, EU and national policymakers, and many other stakeholders to work with the teams, be the first to test and give feedback to the solutions, and then help launch the best solutions after the event.

WHY WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP

The energy market is transforming at an ever-increasing speed. It is decentralizing because the market is at the parity point, where generation behind the consumer’s meter is competitive to the legacy system.
The current energy grid was not designed for the energy going two ways. It’is monopolistic, top-down and the final consumers are not considered as active market players.
Energy Singularity Impact

Regulators are drafting new opportunities that will enable prosumers to actively participate in the market. This transformation creates very large technical, regulatory and business challenges for all stakeholders in the market: energy companies, DSOs, TSOs, final consumers and regulators.

In this track, all stakeholders come to the table to experiment and immediately validate new ideas and solutions.

Impact

Future energy markets are driven bottom-up, with advantages such as security, economics and scalability over top-down markets. Selling your energy to your neighbor means less loss of energy and costs due to transportation: selling to your neighbor = more revenue for your energy. For the consumer there is a plethora of new degrees of freedom and interaction like this one, as energy is one of the underlying essences that connects all businesses within society.

WHAT WE ARE BUILDING

The challenges for the teams and everyone helping them:

Challenge 1

“Build an application using www.D3A.io to simulate the bottom-up energy market of the future. Enable consumers to become active market prosumers, and find the new technical, regulatory and business roles of energy companies, DSOs, TSOs and regulators.”

Challenge 2

“Unlock all new degrees of freedom and interaction for the final consumer/prosumer. Think about energy as the underlying essence that connects all businesses in society, but which has not yet been harnessed like a social network.”

Check out the special deck for this track.
