Enabling the most sustainable,
secure and fair food value chain

Build the next-level infrastructure for an open, sustainable and fair global food market.

How do we enable farmers to be fairly awarded for establishing their proof of production?

The animal protein value chain is intricate, volatile and complex. This results in inefficiencies that have a direct impact on sustainability, food security and fairness. This track, supported by Nutreco, aims at identifying, understanding, decreasing and/or derisking the volatility and inefficiencies at the core of the chain by incentivizing farmers to establish proof of (their) production outcome.

Imagine a wallet, held by a farmer based on pooled farmer and value chain data. This proof of (their) production outcome will grant the farmer access to valuable data. The data helps optimise yield and reduce waste, access supply chain finance and maybe even enable tokenization of their livestock yield to reach a stable annual income.

How can we incentivize farmers to pool their data? How can we establish this proof of production outcome, which can be based on certificates like ‘antibiotic-free’ or ‘sustainable sourced soy’?. And how can we enable this proof to travel throughout the supply and value animal protein chain?

There are a lot of open sources on this topic, and we purposely do not want to point you in one specific direction.

The United Nations, FAO, OECD or GODAN sites are a good starting point.
