Third edition took place on April 11-15th
in Groningen, the Netherlands
The Odyssey Hackathon enables developers, creatives, and entrepreneurs from all over the world to co-create solutions to the challenges contributed by program partners and launching customers using blockchain, AI or other advanced technology.
In 2017, we brought together 450 attendees, grouped in 5 tracks, who built 55 prototypes.
In 2018, we gathered 1000 attendees in 7 tracks working on 64 prototypes.
In 2019, 1500 participants took part in co-creating the new solutions to 20 comple challenges. 100 teams built new prototypes within 48 hours, with the help of 200+ experts, corporate and governmental challenge holders, regulatory partners, and scientists including the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Dutch Central Bank, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), the European Union Regional Development Fund, Deloitte, Vattenfall and KLM.
60 jury panel members have elected the winning teams + solutions, ranging from wildlife restoration to data privacy and fossil-free future to cargo insurance and inclusive banking. All 100 winning teams have been supported by Odyssey ecosystem in moving their solutions forward. At the closing event of the Odyssey Hackathon 2019, six of the winning teams were also selected for additional mentorship by Super Accelerators.
